I was pleasantly surprised to discover authentic Yemeni cuisine in Perlis. The Mendy rice was wonderfully fragrant, perfectly paired with well-cooked chicken. The hummus, drizzled with olive oil, tasted delicious, although it leaned a bit too sour for my preference, likely due to the yogurt blend. The garlic sauce could be improved.. tasted a bit diluted. The overall ambiance of the restaurant was delightful with arabic setting. The prices were reasonable and considered fair for the portion & quality. Regrettably, we had to skip dessert as we were quite full. We will definitely be returning to try it next time!

Verdict: Might come again Food Got the chicken mandy rice. The chicken is covered under the bowl. Apologies about the unclear pic. Spent a total of RM21 for the meal. Overall not so bad. The chicken was incredibly tender however i feel like it could be seasoned better. The rice was excellent. For an arab food restaurant in Kangar, i think they’ve done a respectable job. Service They take your order at the desk and you pay at the counter at the end. Nothing special but more than good enough. Atmosphere Well decorated. They have cool on the floor seating for a more arabian vibe. But the doors make it a bit secluded and less inviting to the restaurant.

The food was so good masyaAllah. All my friends love it alhamdulillah. Except for that we don't have any fresh chillies that come with the rice, because it is upon request as I was told by the owner after that. But other than that, masyaAllah masyaAllah. The Mendy rice is fragrantly delicious, the haneez lamb is superb, the chicken is very tender, the onions, soups, and all are good masyaAllah. I'll make sure to come again insyaAllah with my family and friends in the future.

This is my fifth visit, the very first was around a year ago, also during Ramadan. During that time, if I was not mistaken, the store just newly open, maybe about a month or two. Ya Marhaba as many others mention, is the first proper Arabic Restaurant in Perlis. It got Arabic specifically Yemeni styled cuisine from A to Z. During this visit, I purchased takeway Talam Mandy Chicken, Beef and Lamb. There was a Iftar program that I organised with some of the orphanage from Jejawi. Moving on to the taste subject, the subtle smoky taste of the mandy rice are perfect. The rice is nicely season. The amount are generous, it certainly can make 5 grown person full. But the highlight is the Lamb, the juiciness of the meat, how it just fell off the bone tells you how tender the meat is. The seasoning are well balance, not to overpowering one another. The soup though as for my personal taste is slight salty but when mixed together with the rice, it reduces down the saltiness. If I were to compare them with Halab Penang or Tazaa Arabic Penang, I say the taste is almost on par, but the finishing touch as for the plates cutlery, the packaging use a slightly below from those two standard. But worry not, there is a lot of room to improve and great thing takes time, "Rome wasn't built in a day". For those who wanted to dine, Ya Marhaba welcomes you with nice touch of Arabian styled and decorations. The nice fragrance from the oud and bakhoor greets you as you enter the building. The owner and staff are friendly and helpful. As I always mentions in my reviews or comments, "Good service goes a long way". Lastly as for the price, some might said it is on the higher side, but quality and portionwise, for me is reasonable. Enough of the long talk, go and try yourself, our taste bud might not be the same, but good food, nice ambience and warmest service, thats a great combo!
